Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
