Uche Ignites Comfortable Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS ought to be enough to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This match provided a chance for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
